Day 2 - Olivos, Concert, and Meeting Our Host Families

We had to travel a few blocks to where our bus was waiting so our guide gave us a glimpse of the Buenos Aires subway system. Like any subway, there are musicians. We enjoyed Chilean pipe music on our short ride.

We arrived at Camilla's beautiful home in Olivos and were treated to amazing sandwiches and medialuna, crescent-shaped sweet pastries. Some of us (author) had four. We learned the story of St. Andrews church and received itineraries of our trip.

We then connected with Les Hughey and crew at a school a couple blocks down for a rock concert. Les and the band, along with several musicians from St. Andrews played songs familiar not only in American culture but Argentinean as well. We had a great time connecting with many Argentines from the around the community. The members of this church are incredible servants who have a passion for serving God and serving others.

Tomorrow will be the first work day for us at the community centers... luckily Argentines value their strong (instant) coffee. Pray for our strength, energy, and patience. "Si, se puede!"
